Job Summary

Accountable for UK Domestic customer order execution.

The role involves providing leadership and tactical direction to teams, to meet departmental metrics. Ensuring the safe, compliant and profitable execution of all related processes and facilitates continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:


  • People Management responsibility for the Domestic operations teams, ensuring team members are sufficiently qualified/skilled and knowledgeable to carry out the requirements of their role in a compliant, safe and productive manner, and understand the 4i values and competencies expected of them.
  • Build effective demand and capacity plans to align resources.
  • Ensures finished goods pick / pack and despatch activities are performed to meet outbound same day ship expectations
  • Drive outbound departmental performance within the site goals and department metrics.
  • Prepare and deliver departmental budget including Capex and training
  • Work within the PPI framework to incorporate Lean Leadership into daily work and into the organisation, conducting factbased analysis to build value and lead the future state. Proactively improve processes, reduce and remove waste using PPI methodology and tools.
  • Handle costs and resources to achieve critical metrics and improve departmental capacities and efficiencies in line with AOP expectations.
  • Taking ownership for reporting and escalations to management as needed

Keys to Success:


Education

  • Association/Qualification with a professional body in Ops/Manufacturing/Supply Chain.
  • Health and Safety qualification preferred.
  • Six Sigma or Lean qualification desirable.

Experience

  • Leadership experience
  • Demonstrable experience on process change and development.
  • Operational experience/knowledge of MRP/ERP systems/order management processes

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proven ability to deliver results under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of the demands of a Distribution environment including internal and external customer demands. This will include experience of working within/across multiple departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, being confident in talking to customers (internally and externally) across the business while understanding their needs and demands.
  • Demonstrable role model leadership skills to manage people effectively and deliver required targets.
  • A continuous process improvement mentality with the ability to effectively lead and manage change.
