Murphy and Sons are looking for a Senior Resourcing Business Partner to lead their in-house resourcing team recruiting all monthly and weekly paid staff across the UK.

What you will be doing

  • To organise and lead regular weekly/monthly resourcing meetings with all key members of the leadership team, hiring and the People Business Partners within each UK Business Unit to ensure workforce analysis, resource plans and actions are fully documented and recruitment needs met.
  • Ensure there is consistent and appropriate recruitment processes in place for all vacancies including interviewing and selection
  • Provide training to hiring managers as required on best practice recruitment and interviewing
  • Ensure best practice management of the PSL, including reviews of supplier performance
  • To act as the key point of contact for the Company Visa Sponsorship licence
  • Overall responsibility for the contingent workforce governance and approval process
  • Ensure each of the Resourcing Business Partners/Recruitment Advisor have a clear recruitment plan to direct source talent for their vacancies, are personally engaging with their hiring managers and that filling of vacancies directly is at the required level
  • Recommend the most appropriate method for filling the role direct advertising, inhouse search, agency, retained headhunt. Ensure all recruitment business partners/advisers obtain sign off for any agency spend prior to commencement
  • Provide regular reports/updates to the Group People Director and other key stakeholders as agreed on a weekly/monthly basis, including recruitment metrics and performance
  • Proactively researching and identifying best practice initiatives and delivering as appropriate an awareness of external / Group initiatives and taking steps to introduce or tailor for the UK as required.

Who we are looking for

  • Significant recruitment experience with a proven track record in developing and implementing innovative people management solutions at an operational, tactical and strategic level
  • First hand exposure of Recruitment in a commercially oriented business within the construction/civilengineering sector
  • Experience and comprehensive track record of managing a recruitment team
  • Significant experience of coaching and developing managers and Senior Managers in recruitment methods and best practice
