Description
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the effective day to day administration and co-ordination of clerical procedures concerning outpatient clinics in line with National Policy and locally agreed guidelines.
Specifically, the post holder will ensure that departmental systems and Division wide working practices involving the management of outpatient keep pace with organisational development activities.

This is a varied and interesting role, you will be responsible for the flow of patients through outpatients clinics, processing referrals, preparation of medical notes, taking phone calls and the booking and cancelling of patient appointments.
You will be working closely with the medical and nursing team and you must possess excellent communication skills, working to deadlines and accurate keyboard skills are essential qualities that we are looking for.

- Ensure accurate and timely processing of clinical administrative correspondence (clinic letters, referrals and discharge summaries).
- Prioritise work in an appropriate order to ensure completed within target times.
- Clinic preparation specifically retrieval of notes, filing, tracking in and out
- Photocopying, filing, or any administration duties as deemed necessary to support the patient journey.
- Take telephone enquiries for the pathway team and respond appropriately.
- Utilise the HISS system to update to ensure accurate patient detail.
- Ensure all clinical outcomes are accurately recorded both paper and electronically.
- Provide a courteous and efficient reception service.
