    1-2-1 Mentors work with children and young people, helping them to re-engage with their learning, raise their aspirations, and build emotional resilience to achieve their full potential. We share a passion for strength-based child-focused support, working in partnership with Academies, Devon County Council, parentsand social care organisations. We provide 1-2-1 mentoring programmes tailored to the developmental needs of the individual.

    1-2-1 mentors are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, committed individuals who have the qualities to work effectively with children and young people who may have experienced significant barriers to their learning. Empathy, perseverance, personal resilience, and creativity are all essential qualities. The successful candidate must have experience of working successfully with children who present with social, emotional and behavioural needs. We are looking for candidates who have experience in working with primary, secondary, forest school and outdoor education.

    As a mentor, you must be able to remain calm in challenging situations, show initiative and be confident of lone working in a variety of settings. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with key partners in education and social care are essential.

    1-2-1 Mentors are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. For these posts, pre-employment checks will be carried out and the successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check. A driving licence and the use of a car are essential.
