Interim - Investment Manager
Cardiff
Salary circa £75,000 DOE
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen in the South Wales area to work for a highly regarded Public Sector body.
As a respected Investment Manager, you will play an integral part in ensuring economic self-reliance for the South Wales region, whilst managingand over-seeing a multi-million £ investment fund.
Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, this role requires a senior leader to drive and foster strategic projects for economic well-being.
Key Responsibilities to include:
- Establish, oversee and continually develop the investment pipeline
- Lead and coordinate the origination function, to proactively develop a pipeline and portfolio of opportunity to ensure 'dealflow'
- Deal with various stakeholders across the organisation to maximise lines of communication and ensure that investments are being optimised
- Demonstrate strong data analytical capability, in order to understand trends, undertake market research and R&D activity needed to inform of business risks
- Target commercial opportunities and drive a culture based on commercialism
- Understand and appreciate the political landscape
- Play a vital role in cultivating 'economic strength' through strong links between research and industry
- Establish key links and connections with Trade Bodies, international organisations and Government departments to build a global profile
- Show flair, commercial acumen, dynamism and judgement to sustain the investment fund and ensure it becomes an 'evergreen' fund
Personality Specification:
- Gravitas have the ability to foster strong relationships, continuously identifying opportunities to enhance profile, presence and reputation
- Experience of working with business and external investment agencies to develop scale propositions
- Proven experience of helping others to articulate and bring ideas to life, working in multiple and complex 'networked' structures
- Have the ability to think strategically and translate into action within a political context
- Oversee and manage a small team
The role will be hybrid working, based out of theirfantastic state of the art offices based just on the outskirts of Cardiff City Centre.
