    Post 16 Special Educational Needs Teacher

    Post 16 Learners with a range of Special Educational Needs.

    Salary MS1 – UPS3, £30,000 - £46,525 + SEN allowance £2,539

    Start Date 1 st September 2024

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a teacher to join Newfriars College where we deliver programmes to young people aged 16+ with a range of SEND. Our SLD and PMLD Pathways are growing in learner numbers from September 2024. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher who will deliver programmes at the College that are preparing young people with SLD and/or PMLD for transition into adulthood.

    We are also interested in any particular specialisms you could bring to the role – for example Communication (AAC); Autism or delivering programmes to young people with complex SEND.

    As a member of our SEN teacher team, you will work closely with other teachers and our teaching assistant team to support the education offer for young people with a range of SLD/PMLD. As a teacher you will help plan and deliver a personalised curriculum offer preparing our young people with SLD and/or PMLD to lead their best possible adult lives. You will work in collaboration with parents/carers and external stakeholders to deliver an offer that is relevant and meets the needs of young people preparing to transition into adulthood.

    You will be a qualified teacher with knowledge and experience of working with young people with a range of SEND needs and have a sound knowledge of best practice in the area. You will be passionate and creative. You will work well in a team and have excellent communication skills.
