    We are currently recruiting a Software Engineer to join the Monoceros team at Worldpay. This position is London-based and aligned to the Worldpay University Program; a two-year program, suited to entry level joiners who aspire to develop a successful career with a leading payments company.

    Monoceros, as a team within Access WorldPay, looks after a number of Edge services, including Content Delivery Network (CDN), authentication, and merchant onboarding activities.


    What you will be doing

    You will collaborate with your cross-functional squad to design, develop, operate, and improve the products our customers enjoy using. You will work with the wider engineering team to bring solutions to challenges that require cross squad collaboration. As a member of the squad, you will also have deep understanding of the product and industry you are building for.

    Working within a truly cross functional team, your day-to day responsibilities include:

    • Refining both business and engineering led requirements

    • Developing and automating the test solutions to our customer's needs

    • Working on some highly sought after technologies, including ECS, Docker and Kubernetes

    • As a team, planning and reviewing the work to be carried out in 2-week iterations

    • Deployment changes to production environments

    • Identifying and resolving any issues with your products running in production

    • Joining the on-call roster with other squad members to provide support for our mission-critical services

    • Personal & professional development – one week every quarter dedicated to learning new skills and experimenting with new technologies (hackathons)

    WorldPay has a diverse technical environment with opportunities to work in Java, Scala, Python, front-end technologies (Node.JS), Cassandra; as well as cutting edge cloud-based technologies such as AWS and Azure

    Who we are looking for


    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or Software Engineering)

    • Some programming skill in Java or Python

    • Some knowledge of cloud computing

    • Some understanding of continuous integration and deployment

    • Willingness and ability to learn, master, and work in both new and older technologies

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization

    • Passion for tinkering and technology – cutting edge tech; you like hackathons and innovation sprints

    • Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts

    • An engineering skillset that is focused on quality and a test first philosophy, regardless of the activity

    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
