- From reception to dispatch, ensure specimens are processed, cut, stained, and handled with utmost precision and adherence to turnaround times.
- Assist in workload management, maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy in our work output.
- Regular and accurate archiving of samples to ensure efficient retrieval when needed.
- Participate in relevant training courses to stay updated with industry advancements and best practices.
- Operate and maintain histology equipment in accordance with department policies.
- Adhere strictly to Health and Safety regulations and maintain safe laboratory practices at all times.
- Subject to competency and training, participate in specimen dissection.
- Engage in annual staff appraisals and demonstrate commitment to personal and professional growth.
- You must be HCPC registered BMS and member of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences in the UK.
- Have a minimum 2 years of post-registration experience in a histology laboratory setting.
- Have a strong understanding of histological techniques, familiarity with Health & Safety codes, laboratory IT systems, and accreditation processes.
