Illuminate are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a Chartered Institute as they continue to deliver an exciting strategy designed to innovate and increase the impact of their educational and product offering to a highly engaged membership base.

The team are growing, and we are seeking a Content Editor with a with a digital focus, to support the delivery of content strategy and ensure that the team offer the highest quality resources to their membership and increase member engagement.


Why do we need you?


Our client plays an important role in educating and training thousands of professionals through chartered qualification and a full programme of certificates, short courses, conferences and CPD events.

This training is delivered online, in person and viain-house training to support the professional development of teams in all sectors.

Members have access to high quality resources - case studies, interviews, original articles, special features, videos, guidance notes, technical briefings - as the most valuedbenefit of membership.

As they expand this content resource we are now seeking a dedicated content editor to produce and commission a variety of engaging content and manage the day to day needs of the programme.

Working closely with colleagues across the organizationthe role will include building relationships with content contributors, sponsors, trainers and other stakeholders.


What will you be responsible for?
This will be a busy and creative role and your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the commissioning and generation of high quality new content for a variety of channels and audiences
  • Research, write, manage and commission content for digital publications, dataled research and benchmarking reports, blogs, articles, interviews with sector professionals etc
  • Provide editorial oversight and quality control on content
  • Monitor, analyse and report on digital content generation and audience trends and engagement
  • Optimize published content using SEO guidelines
  • Review, and ensure that existing content is kept up to date and continues to offer an excellent resource for its audience.
  • Manage the editorial calendar and ensure timely publication of content
  • Build and develop excellent relationships with contributors, sponsors, and partners
  • Work closely with the magazine editor to plan and support content campaigns, generate content for the digital magazine, and other channels
  • Deliver the Institute's programme of blogs and generate new ideas around governance related topics

What skills and experience will you need to thrive in this new role?
This role requires first class commissioning, writing, editing and proof reading skills.

You will also be able to demonstrate experience of successfully commissioning and writing for a variety of audiences across digital and print channels.


  • You have the ability to research and consider new policy areas and assess the appropriate content opportunities.
  • An appreciation of audience needs informed by a good understanding of data analytics and business intelligence
  • Comfortable in editing images and on line content
  • Planning, logistics and budgeting skills
  • A passion for improving the member/customer experience and our member value proposition
  • Self motivated and able to work in a small team and inspire colleagues across the organization
  • Ability to set clear expectations for contributors and help them to deliver great content
  • Familiarity with membership organisations and policy development would be useful
