    Ful timeLocation: KentSalary: Competitive, based on experienceWe are seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer to join our Applications team.

    This role involves creating and developing technical solutions in response to customer and sales enquiries, ensuring alignment with our business and strategic needs.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, customer liaison experience, and the ability to drive product development through innovative technology.

    Day to Day of the role:Collaborate with the Applications team, Sales, and BDMs to develop technical solutions that leverage our products and expertise.

    Focus on providing system solutions over products, utilizing Amphenol's strengths in design and innovation.
    Work closely with customers to capture technical specifications, create compliance matrices, and concept designs to meet their requirements.
    Liaise with pre-production and operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing of developed concepts.
    Conduct robust testing of concepts to ensure they meet Amphenol guidelines and can be marketed and manufactured effectively.
    Identify risks, manage obsolescence and sole-source issues, and ensure efficient product and information handover to internal teams.
    Support the Applications workload, resolve issues in a timely manner, and report progress and risks as required.
    Prepare engineering drawings, production specifications, and contract modifications to meet customer requirements.
    Develop comprehensive application notes outlining the implementation and integration of Amphenol products into customer applications.


    Required Skills & Qualifications:
    Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
    Minimum of 5 years in an Engineering/Design role or similar.
    Experience in customer liaison and a customer-facing role.
    Proficiency in 3D CAD and product lifecycle software; CREO is advantageous.
    Experience in the design and manufacture of small components, with knowledge of tolerances and manufacturing techniques.
    Ability to generate concept designs from technical requirements and customer input.
    Mechanical engineering knowledge with some electrical skills.
    Understanding of the NPI process and practical problem-solving skills.
    Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad as required.
