Job summary:

The Markets, Partners and Place (MPP) Directorate leads Homes England's delivery of major projects in priority places. This includes 'Garden Settlements' and projects that achieve transformative urban regeneration throughout England.

The Directorate also leads our response to devolution and the establishment of long-term partnerships with Combined Authorities via our Strategic Place Partnership (SPP) model already in-place with Greater Manchester and now being rolled out across other Combined Authority areas.


Job description:


We are seeking to recruit a Head of Regeneration working as part of the national team under the Director for Regeneration, Partnerships and Major Project who will be part of the leadership team and the Agency's overall approach to major regeneration project delivery, the establishment of place-based partnerships to deliver priority projects and ensure that a consistent investment delivery orientated approach is applied throughout England.


In our national function we are seeking people to bring specialist expertise to the delivery of our projects and partnerships and take a portfolio leadership approach to our work in priority places, garden communities and major urban regeneration schemes.

These roles combine technical capability with an ability to translate best practice and provide delivery support and capacity to internal and external partners across priority projects throughout the country.


Person specification:


You will be part of a friendly team that ensures regeneration and housing growth delivery occurs in our priority places by working with internal and external stakeholders.

This means developing projects that meet both the ambitions of partners and our new Strategic Plan but also develop business case propositions to draw-down available capital funds in an innovative and problem-solving way.

Your role is to ensure that projects happen.

  • You will be part of a team that works with partners throughout England, supporting Regional teams who are playing a leading role in promoting the Agency and the work we do.
  • You will help develop and deepen relationships with local partners in priority housing markets and act as a conduit between Homes England and our key partners, influencing key decisions and leveraging relationships to generate new business.
  • You will lead or support multidisciplinary teams, drawing on skills and expertise form across the agency to drive progress in complex, long term regeneration and housing growth projects and enable delivery in priority locations.
  • You will be responsible for contributing to the implementation of change to deliver our new operating approach and to work in a more place based and impactful way.
  • You will work in the National Regeneration, Partnerships and Major Projects team to develop best practice in what we do in regeneration and to achieve consistency throughout England.
  • Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn't always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders. You will be a critical friend to partners, while also being supportive and engaging, you will be comfortable with having difficult and challenging conversations.
  • Your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an agency.
  • You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
  • You will be used to dealing with competing priorities, meeting various internal and external deadlines and will always be looking for ways to improve.
