Where you fit in
The role sits within the Media Relations team in Corporate & Internal Communications.

The Corporate Social Media Adviser will report to the Head of Corporate, UK and NL Media Relations, based in London, UK, and work closely with the Senior Corporate Social Content Adviser.

Together with other Media Relations colleagues, the Adviser provides functional support and advice on strategic reputational and media relations issues to the business and has a 24/7 crisis response capability.


What's the role?


As Corporate Social Media Adviser, we'll be looking to you to support the implementation of Shell's global corporate communications framework on digital channels, working on integrated campaigns focusing on social media.


More specifically, your role will include:

  • Execution and implementation of global corporate social media campaigns.
  • Supporting the creation of an integrated social media content calendar.
  • Supporting the Senior Corporate Content Adviser, Community Managers and Corporate Relations teams, drafting and reviewing social content.
  • Collaboration with Shell's Global Community Management network, ensuring 24/7 cover of Shell's global corporate channels.
  • Working with colleagues in the global Media Relations and wider Corporate Relations teams to ensure content on social platforms follow consistent messaging, look and feel and social media best practices.
  • Working closely with the Insights & Analytics team to help implement the content measurement framework across corporate channels.
  • Supporting the Community Management team with data and insights to help inform the corporate social media activity.
  • Keeping abreast of digital developments and trends, sharing insights with team members when appropriate.
  • Providing input into the UK social media strategy, analyse data, and facilitate customer service projects and campaigns.
  • Briefing and managing the scope of community management and paid media agencies.

Moreover, you'll ideally have:

  • Significant experience in digital marketing and corporate social media management, preferably in agencies, consultancies, or other large corporate teams.
  • A proven trackrecord in managing social and digital media channels for a large organisation, with experience in web and social media campaign management.
  • The proven ability to develop and execute digital and social content/campaign strategy.
  • The proven ability to develop and manage a paid, multichannel campaign.
  • The ability to shape and create digital content, functionality and structures that consistently offer positive user experiences.
  • Knowledge and experience of content management and listening software such as Sprinklr or Hootsuite, Synthesio or Brandwatch, BrightEdge or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is desirable.
  • Experience in optimising the use of multimedia (image, video, text, graphic and audio).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
