Cambridge (office-based role) with some UK travel


Contract
Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week)


Cambridge Muslim College was established in 2009 to develop and disseminate Muslim thought leadership through world-class education, training and research based on dialogue between the Islamic tradition and the circumstances of the modern world. It currently offers a full time BA in Islamic Studies validated by the Open University, a Diploma in Contextual Islamic Studies and Leadership and an online Diploma in Islamic Psychology. It also organises and delivers a wide range of Continuing Education programmes for the general public.

JOB PURPOSE

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the production of promotional materials for all academic programmes, including the prospectus, website information and video content.
  • Assist in the execution of Open days, both inperson and online.
  • Accompany visits to institutions around the UK to make presentations on the College's programmes, including schools, colleges, madrasas and Darul Uloom's.
  • Assist with group visits from other institutes to build relationships and promote college programmes and development.
  • Respond to all queries sent to the admissions inbox.
  • Liaise with the Comms team to arrange open and close of admissions.
  • Act as secretary to the Admissions committee to manage the process of making offers and awarding scholarships, liaising with the Development team.
  • Coordinate and take minutes of admissions panel meetings.
  • Record and communicate decisions, ensuring that there are clear audit trails for them.
  • Connect successful applicants with Finance and Facilities departments to arrange student finance and accommodation.
  • Work with the Student Services Officer to prepare an induction week itinerary for students.
  • Support the Facilities Manager in the administration of college accommodation.
  • Arrange bookings.
  • Process payments.
  • Communicate maintenance requests.
  • Support College events as agreed by Student Services Senior Officer and the event convenors.
  • Serve as needed at events outside of regular working hours.
  • Assist the Student Services Senior Officer in arranging other collegerelated events throughout the year, in particular graduation ceremonies and field trips.
  • Take minutes at meetings as required.
  • Work with colleagues to develop and improve processes.
  • Support the College's Quality Assurance activities by maintaining a thorough
- knowledge of the College's policies and processes.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

  • Good basic education to a minimum of A-Level standard or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in an administrative or similar role, preferably in an education institution.
  • Working independently but within a team.
  • Using online systems, social media platforms and developing processes
  • Assist with planning and execution of student recruitment events in consultation with their line manager and other colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient and professional student admission process.
  • Work accurately and methodically.
  • Have an Innovative and creative approach to work.
  • Prioritise work to meet conflicting demands.
  • Excellent allround communication and confident presentation skills.
  • Ability to contribute to use social media platforms.
  • Commitment to own continuing professional development.
  • Work flexibly with occasional out of office hours and weekend work.
  • Willingness to travel around the UK.
