    Description

    The User-centred Design team focuses on helping residents access council services and information via our website and other online platforms.

    As our user researcher you will make a difference by being responsible for devising and conducting an ongoing programme of user experience and research activities to support the council's digital transformation, making it more customer-centric.

    Day to day, you will use your skills to design, plan and conduct research into what people need from our website and online services.

    It will be your responsibility to ensure that users with a range of needs are engaged in user research and testing.

    Working with our team of content designers, you will plan content to meet agreed user stories and acceptance criteria.

    It is key that you have worked in a collaborative way with content designers, business analysts, and IT development teams.

    You must be able to demonstrate your experience of using web analytics and data insights to support your work.

    Given the nature of the role, you should understand the diversity of users of government services and designing appropriate research activities to capture their needs.

    You will have knowledge of the Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.
