The post holder is responsible for initiating and supporting Effective Clinical Practice and Quality Improvement activities, including line management of the Individual Patient Funding Requests, Clinical Effectiveness and Medical Quality Improvement and Assurance Teams across Hywel Dda University Health Board in a senior role within the Medical Directorate.


The post holder will have responsibility for leading the Clinical Effectiveness function and team, which provides the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the process for effective implementation of NICE guidance and other national or professional guidance.


They will provide strategic direction to managers and health professionals in achieving implementation of NICE and other national guidance within current financial constraints and will work across the health community whenever appropriate.


The post holder will provide professional advice and support to a range of clinicians, managers and staff in supporting the development of high quality, modernised workforce across the University Health Board within a changing healthcare context.


The post holder will manage the Individual Patient Funding Requests team and ensuring that funding requests, allocation and approval are in line with Health Board and national policies.


The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that there are processes in place for Health Board services to learn from mortality and undertake mortality review, in line with e All Wales Learning from Mortality Review Framework.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering the Quality Improvement and Assurance function within the Medical Directorate.

Represent the Assistant Medical Director when appropriate in local and national fora.

Responsible for interpreting local and national policy within the designated area

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
