Description

An Agricultural Company based in Manchester is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to join their team on a contract basis for 10 months initially. (Fully remote)

Duties:


The Planning Contractor will perform the role of a Supply Chain Planner and will be accountable for a small portfolio of active ingredients.


Responsibilities will include:


Creating a rough-cut manufacturing plan across a 27 month horizon to meet the sales forecast, issuing purchase orders for active ingredient to achieve the manufacturing plan, managing inventories, participating in new product launch teams and communicatingand resolving any opportunities or issues.

Critical knowledge:
Applicants must have a background in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Finance.

  • Optimise the manufacturing and logistics infrastructure and coordinate paraprofessionals providing entry level support.
  • Production: Supervise and coordinate on the manufacturing of active ingredients and intermediates into raw materials including guiding and assisting more junior employees.
  • Operate and troubleshoot escalated issues for various formulating equipment.
  • Perform routine and nonroutine operations safely and efficiently.
  • Execute all phases of crop protection or seed production for e.g., small seeded vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, squash, to ensure a high quality, reliable, and timely supply is delivered to the facility.
  • Coordinate third party cleaning vendors, offsite inventory management and communication of scheduling, priorities and shipping needs between stakeholders, and work with specialists to test/implement new production concepts.

Supply:Provide logistics and order management support to clients, including order management & distribution related transactions, including recommending modifications to be made to the processes to ensure optimisation.

Entry: Strive to optimise the manufacturing and logistics infrastructure through lean methodologies and other strategies. Communicates with internal colleagues within manufacturing plants, transportation and storage

Production: Manufacture active ingredients and intermediates into raw materials.
