Timeplan is currently working with a large SEND primary school in Lambeth, who are recruiting for several specialist Teaching Assistants to start ASAP.
The school caters for students aged 2-11 with an EHCP for PMLD, Autism and complex needs.
They have a strong academic focus; however, they also wish to develop student's independence in a fun and nurturing way.
Shortlisted candidates must have previous SEND experience, especially with Autism, PMLD and complex needs. You will be working in a class of 4-9 pupils providing 1:1 support.Classes are generally formed based on age groups, however there will be varying abilities, with some students being non-verbal, therefore a working knowledge of PECs and Makaton is desirable.
There will be some personal care involved, so in date manual handling or a willingness to learn is required. Successful applicants are caring, calm and pro-active with a keen interest in SEND.

Key skills and experience needed:
Experience supporting children with ASD, SLD and complex needs.
Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
One to one and small group work
