LONDON

Gi Pro are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join an independent consulting business with a focus on projects within healthcare and telecommunications.

Currently undertaking projects ranging from several thousand pounds to multi-million-pound projects involving a vast array of engineering services in complex buildings.

THE ROLE:
As an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for: Acting as project leader on selected projects
Working as part of a larger team on certain projects.
Attending principal meetings and making client presentations on selected projects.
Raising/promoting the level of technical excellence relating to mechanical engineering within the team.
Working closely with others in a team environment.
Producing drawings and specifications.
Producing calculations or guiding others to complete them.
Monitoring project costs, time and maintaining project deliverables.
Production of mechanical system designs and specifications
Review of mechanical system designs and specifications
Production of technical reports
Attending and conducting site surveys
Coordination with external (architectural, structural, PQS, CDM, etc.) and internal (CAD, Revit, electrical, public health, Sustainability) disciplines.
Mentoring mechanical engineers and trainees
Inputting into practice improvements in work methods and delivery
Collaborating with other Associate Directors and Directors in identifying and implementing new work practices and innovation.


THE PERSON:

To be considered for the position of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will have: A degree qualification - mechanical or building services (Chartered or working towards).

Considerable experience of design in building services, post qualification completion (8-10 years minimum design experience).
Operating at a Senior design Engineer role or similar for at least 2-3 years
Client interaction skills.
Software design experience ideally including Microsoft Office, Hevacomp or Cymap
Knowledge of British standards, building regulations documents, etc.
Knowledge of HTMs would also be of benefit.
Professional membership of one of the following (CIBSE, IET, IMechE, IHEEM)

4 x salary death in service
4.5% Ee, 7% Er - Pension
