Head of Finance - Gainsborough - £60,000-£65,000

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Finance Responsibilities will include:

  • Autonomous role supporting the MD and being the financial conscience and planner for the business
  • Developing and improving all systems to provide more MI reporting, quicker and more accurately to understand performance
  • Overseeing the production of monthly management accounts and board packs generating greater insight
  • Cashflow management and forecasting
  • Providing accurate analytical and financial reporting and identify/report opportunities for the business
  • Leading projects around continuous improvement of accounting processes, reporting and controls, including bringing all reporting in line with MD expectations to assist with growth of the business
  • Financial modelling and support the MD with business strategy, capital investment and expansion plans
  • Budgeting, forecasting & 5 year strategic planning
  • Day to day management and development of the finance function
  • Overseeing year end accounts pack and statutory reporting
  • Manage all external stakeholder relationships including banks, auditors, HMRC, etc
  • Assisting with general bookkeeping and providing cover for all roles (Payroll, sales & purchase ledger etc) as required to support the team

Required Skills & Experience:


  • CIMA/ACCA Qualified Accountant ideally or strong QBE
  • Solid management and financial accounting experience within the manufacturing sector
  • Strong experience in a similar senior finance lead role
  • IT Literate including ERP systems and Excel
  • Experience of driving change and working as part of a senior management team
  • Must have strong management experience and the ability to manage and influence change
  • Continuous improvement mentality, ability to develop controls, systems, MI and process
