    My client is one of the world leaders in the manufacture and supply of high precision compressor rotors and they have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machine Operator who can set-up and programme using FANUC.

    They are a well-established 150-year-old business, still thriving with a growing order book.

    They are looking for time-served operators with minimum three years' experience of programming, setting and operating CNC machines for both turning and milling operations. It is essential to have experience with Fanuc programming.

    Job Purpose

    Part of a multi-skilled, friendly engineering team, you will programme, set, and operate CNC Turning or Milling machines producing precision components to a high specification and rigorous quality standard.

    Key responsibilities and accountabilities

    • Set and run CNC Turning machines specifically Doosan LY & VMC/HMC - knowledge of MoriSeiki, SwedTurn & manual machines an advantage.
    • Essential to the role is the ability to set and where necessary write programmes using Fanuc controls.
    • Maintain a tidy and well-organized work area and perform regular machine maintenance tasks.
    • Must be able to read and understand technical drawings.
    • Inspect your own work using conventional measurement techniques, diagnose errors and correct any deviation.

    Skills and attributes

    • Proven time-served CNC operator in Turning or Milling with Fanuc control programming experience.
    • Experience of producing complex metal components to very tight tolerances.
    • Experience of operating a range of Turning or Milling machines.
    • Work efficiently and accurately with minimum supervision.
    • Keen to learn other machine operations with training.
    • Flexible and can work a rotating shift pattern.
    • Willingness to work overtime when required.
    • Knowledge of metal cutting techniques and Lean principles.

    Work Pattern

    Two-week rotating shift pattern with an early finish on a Friday:

    Week 1: Mon to Thurs: 5:45 till 14:10, Fri: 5:45-11:45

    Week 2: 14:10 till 22:15, Fri: 11:45 till 19:25
