Teaching Assistant - Pontyclun, United Kingdom - New Directions Holding
Description
New Directions is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work with our Primary/Secondary schools in the Pontyclun area. There are multiple positions available, including long term and part time, day to day supply.
You will be expected to help pupils with a variety of needs. We are looking for someone reliable, passionate, and dedicated to providing continuity.
You will need a minimum of 3 months child-based experience, and an enthusiastic attitude to help support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills. Although child-based experience is beneficial, we also consider candidates who have worked within a care based role such as support work or nursing.
You'll work directly under the supervision of the teacher, and be expected to help in preparing the classroom for lessons. This may involve a variety of activities such as photocopying worksheets, setting up art equipment, weighing out ingredients, preparing computers, rearranging the furniture for a particular activity and so on. The right candidate should be able to provide a creative and exciting learning environment whereby pupils are motivated and encouraged to show ambition, to maximise their potential, and to embrace all aspects of school life to develop a wide-ranging skill set.
