    City & Hackney NHS Talking Therapies are recruiting for a part-time Employment Adviser to deliver employment support to patients accessing the City & Hackney NHS Talking Therapies service. The role will involve working closely with Talking Therapies clinicians, external services, and employers when managing a caseload of clients with their employment needs

    NHS Talking Therapies services in England offers evidence-based treatment to people with common mental health problems - such as depression and anxiety. The Employment Advisers (EAs) in NHS Talking Therapies provide skills-based interventions, information, and practical support to help people receiving Talking Therapies services to remain in, return to, and find work

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a large and dynamic Talking Therapies service working in a stimulating and unique inner London setting. Hackney is a particularly diverse borough, even within London, and this is reflected in the range of people that they see and the problems that they treat.

    You will be joining a large team of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and Employment Advisers. They are part of Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and have strong links with local GPs, secondary care mental health services and voluntary sector providers as part of the City and Hackney Psychological Therapies Alliance

    Main duties of the job

    The role involves providing information, advice, and guidance to a caseload of clients who are accessing City & Hackney NHS Talking Therapies on their employment needs. Working closely with their therapist and tailoring the support to the individual to find work, remain in work or return to work after sickness absence.

    The role will also involve working directly with other professionals - such as Jobcentre Plus Work Coaches, employers, trade union representatives and recruitment agents.

    Essential

  • NVQ 4 in Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) or equivalent experience
  • Postgraduate certificate/diploma in a related field ( psychology, counselling, occupational therapy, human resources), or equivalent knowledge acquired through experience

  • Coaching qualification
  • Skills/ Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to present complex information in a concise and professional manner
