    Purpose:


    As part of our global expansion, we are looking for a Data & Analytics Lead, where you will focus on implementing the strategy for the business.

    The data strategy for this team spans the entire data spectrum:

    engineering, data modeling, data science, analytics, reporting, customer selections, data visualisation, architecting use cases with other teams, data governance and commercial data strategy.

    The ideal candidate will be an experienced data specialist and well-rounded enough to both architect use cases across multiple fintech functions, and work with the Data Tribe day-to-day to deliver them.


    What you'll be doing:
    The role's primary focus is to design and deliver the data strategy for a mobile-first fintech app.

    • Design and deliver an inspiring, fit-for-purpose roadmap and vision for the Marco Polo data strategy.
    • Work and manage a high-performing team of data specialists comprising data engineers, BI analysts and data scientists.
    • Be a visible SME across the organisation, even outside of the data domain.
    • Be the relationship manager for the Data tribe across the other functions such as: Product, Growth, Marketing, Design, Risk, Pricing, Technology, Customer Service, Operations, Risk, Partnerships.
    • Fulfil operational and strategic reporting & data visualisation needs across the organisation.
    • Manage the business logic in the singular, semantic reporting layer so definitions of KPIs are applied consistently.
    • Fulfil the operational data needs for customer marketing and service messaging.
    • Design, deliver and operate the appropriate controls for the data and analytics environment, spanning the principles of robustness, good data quality, privacy-conscious, secure and minimal redundancy in collection, movement, storage, usage and access.
    • Craft the compelling written and spoken narrative to drive action: "Make them think what we think".
    • Be a thought leader and help deliver the first use cases for genAI

    QualificationsWhat you'll need:

    • Technical expertise in tools spanning: data warehousing, ETL, internal visualisation and analytics. Good examples are Snowflake, GCP, Azure Analytics, Sagemaker, Databricks, Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Quicksight, Airflow, , Alteryx, Collibra.
    • Hands on experience and\or a detailed and deep understanding of the workflow and approaches of:o BI analyst for visualisation, general analytics and operational processeso Data engineer for ETL and general data management\modellingo Data scientist\modelling workflow for machine learningo Data governance controls
    • Obvious experience working with functions in fintech or financial services such as:o Commercial \ product \ growth \ marketing \ pricing \ strategyo Customer service \ Operations \ Risk \ Finance \ Treasury
    • Experience working with partners in analytics, e.g. marketing attribution for mobile, product analytics, CRM. Good examples are Braze, Salesforce, Appsflyer, ABTasty, Mixpanel.
    • Fluent in API\event\micro-service based back end architectures on the cloud
    • Strong discipline in optimization, test and learn, hypothesis-based experimentation to drive better CX, revenue or cost saves. And further able to cajole and enable other teams to have an experimentation agenda.
    • Demonstrated experience working in and with teams that deliver software using a form of Agile development.
    This role will be worked on s hybrid basis and will be based in London.
