Codec supports Hybrid working and flexible working arrangements for staff, however, on-site working will be required where expected by customers.

We are now seeking an Azure Technical Services Lead to join our growing Azure team.


Based within our Cloud Infrastructure team, you will be working with Codec customers on the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of Azure solutions across a variety of industry sectors.

Your role will be to provide advisory services to a range of clients, working in a proactive environment where the emphasis is on delivering first class service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities


Responsibilities:

Assist customers to achieve value for money from their Azure investment.

Implement robust monitoring strategies for our customers and implement improved techniques and practises for managing customer Azure environments.

Implement best practices including deployment automation, Infrastructure as Code, and templating.

Assist customers with Governance and Cost Management. Identify alternatives, pros/cons, and make recommendations of optimal Azure resources.

Assist customers with migration of workloads to Azure.

Provide guidance to the Cloud Engineering team to support skills development.

Serve as an escalation point for the Cloud Engineering team.

Work closely with key customers and internal stakeholders.

Contributing to the creation and improvement of Reports & Documentation on customer environments.

Continually improve our managed service processes and offerings.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Required Skills and Qualifications


Experience of administering and operating medium/large enterprise infrastructure and services in public cloud environments, including configuring backups, monitoring, patching and security of cloud resources.

Experience of Implementing and managing public cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure - IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).

Strong understanding of root cause analysis.

Installing and configuring Proactive Monitoring.

Solid understanding of core networking principles.

Familiarity with identity components including Active Directory, Azure Active Directory.

Knowledge or experience with CI/CD tools, preferably Azure DevOps.

Demonstrable attention to detail along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


Impeccable English language written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear concise manner.

Experience of working in a Managed Service Provider is highly desirable.

Key Competencies

Be able to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues.

Show initiative to highlight opportunities for automation and continuous improvement of our managed services and internal processes.

Familiarity with the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).

Knowledgeable about managed service tools and software and committed to delivering continuous service improvement.

Desirable skills

Azure Certifications

Advanced experience with access management, identity, and security.

Experience with Windows Servers, Linux, and Domains.

Experience with Containerisation technologies.

Experience with managing and configuring network security and firewalls.


An enthusiasm for new technology with an interest in learning about new trends and technology and how they can be applied at a practical level.
