About Us:

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient.

This includes the provision of housing. In common with many other inner-city boroughs, we have a shortage of affordable homes.

We're addressing the problem through a £257 million capital investment programme, building new homes and refurbishing many existing properties to a high standard.

The Role:

Your focus will be on supporting residents in temporary accommodation, dealing with queries and tenancy matters; liaising with internal and external partners to ensure the well-being of residents throughout their time in temporary accommodation.

You will be responsible for enabling them to successfully maintain their tenancy, whilst making effective use of our budget and available resources.

You will work with providers and residents to resolve complaints and tenancy support issues and ensure the wellbeing of residents throughout their time in temporary accommodation.

Dealing directly with residents, you will also find solutions for households whose homes have become unsuitable.

It's rewarding work, if emotionally challenging and pressurised.

You'll be helping people in genuine difficulty and distress, but will have the constant support of a friendly and effective team.

About You:

While a knowledge of temporary accommodation provision would be useful, it is not essential.

More important is a compassionate yet methodical approach that enables you to manage complex situations and deal with competing priorities efficiently - all while paying full attention to important details of residents' needs.

Some experience of delivering frontline services would be helpful and you'll have excellent communication skills. In addition, you'll be a strong team player who is hard-working, enthusiastic and resilient, and always calm under pressure.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
