Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support.

The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024.

When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

Your Impact

:


Key Liaison

:

Act as the prime point of contact between Supply Chain and the Engineering & Delivery Director, ensuring seamless collaboration to meet cross-program requirements.


Strategic Deputising

:

Deputise for the Supply Chain Director, representing SZC at Executive meetings and Boards. Be a vital member of the senior leadership team.


Data-Driven Oversight

:

Utilise management information to support contract performance oversight and process control. Take charge as the accountable owner of the process and governance related to Contract Management Control Points.


Continuous Improvement

:

Set and enhance the overall contract management framework collaboratively with key stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement in training, competency requirements, and the selection of systems and tools for Contract Management.


Stakeholder Engagement

:

Engage with executives, external bodies, and regulators, preparing Board papers and reports. Ensure that conflicts of interest are expertly managed in line with SZC processes.


Cultivating Excellence

:

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lessons learned within the senior leadership team. Work collaboratively to implement best practice Contract Management methodologies across HPC.


Innovation and Alignment

:

Drive a culture aligned with SZC's values, reinforcing behaviours that uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, schedule, and cost.


Your expertise

:


Essential experience for this role includes successful engagement with stakeholders in complex, multi-shareholder environments, proficiency in UK commercial and contract management practices, a proven track record in Senior/Executive Management, strong decision-making skills in financially significant matters, expertise in contract performance measurement, risk and change management, and claim management.

Additionally, you'll also be well


A track record in large-scale construction projects (ideally nuclear/ power), and familiarity with the UK regulatory framework and international supply chain management is important.

Familiarity with nuclear site license conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy is desirable.
