We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Quality Governance Department as a Divisional Governance Officer.

Your role will be vital in supporting the Divisional Governance Manager in the delivery of the quality governance agenda in a fast paced environment.


Experience in the field of quality, safety and compliance within the health sector is required for this role, as is demonstrable experience of using incident reporting and risk management systems such as DATIX.


The successful postholder will support the Divisional Governance Manager in the coordination and delivery of the governance and quality agenda across the divisions, ensuring implementation of the Trust's governance and quality work programme.


In addition, they will support in the delivery of a robust assurance framework within the division which ensures that systems for learning and improvement are in place, effective and monitored, as well as acting as a point of contact for providing governance and quality support and advice, where required.


The successful postholder will support the wider quality governance agenda across the trust and will support the development and delivery of systems and processes to monitor and improve outcomes in line with the trust objectives and the quality improvement plan.


The successful postholder will, in addition, be comfortable with using Excel, and with manipulating and analysing data, and presenting this in a user friendly format.


The successful postholder will be required to lead or contribute to meetings with a view to identifying areas for improvement and ensuring these are implemented.

We are looking for fast learners and excellent team player with good organisation and communication skills. The ability to work under pressure, and to tight deadlines is essential.


North Middlesex University Hospital is one of London's busiest acute hospitals, serving more than 350,000 people living in Enfield and Haringey and the surrounding areas, including Barnet and Waltham Forest.

We are an integrated provider with a full range of adult, elderly and children's services across medical and surgical disciplines including community 0-19 yr old services in Enfield.

Our specialist services include stroke, HIV/AIDS, cardiology, haematology, diabetes, fertility and orthopaedics. Our sickle cell and thalassaemia department is nationally recognised as a leading centre for these diseases.

Every day, on average, we see 500 patients in A&E; 15 babies are born in our maternity unit; about 450 inpatients are cared for on our wards; about 50 patients have major or minor surgery in one of our 10 operating theatres; and about 800 people attend our outpatients clinics.

The postholder will be responsible for supporting all aspects of governance, patient safety and risk within the division.

Working with the direction of the Divisional Governance Manager and closely with the Divisional Director of Nursing the postholder will support the robust and sustainable implementation of sound systems and processes for providing oversight, assurance and improvement.
