Groundwork are excited to be involved in a pioneering project which supports the government priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people through Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP) based in schools. Groundwork is seeking 2x Mental Health Support Team Supervisor Practitioners to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in an evolving service.

The Mental Health Support Team Supervisors will oversee 2-4x trainee/qualified Mental Health Practitioners (Band 4/5). The supervising practitioner role will focus on providing day to day clinical and supervisory support and line management for EMHP's, some of whom are completing their qualifications over their training year and become a fully qualified EMHP. They will also be required to deliver 1:1 intervention, group work and staff training, as well as establishing and maintaining strong relationships within educational settings.

The Mental Health Support Team project provides an excellent opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England. With the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in Southwark, this pioneering project involves designing a bespoke offer, based on the school's individual needs and supporting the implementation of a Whole School Approach (WSA) to mental health across the borough.

It would be beneficial if applicants have a qualification in Clinical Supervision and/or experience of providing supervision to mental health professionals.

Applicants to the Mental Health Support Team Supervisor role may be required to undertake and pass the supervisors course at Kings (KCL). This course is fully funded by DoE. DoE is based at Kings College London and learning takes place both online and at the Denmark Hill campus.

Applicants will ideally need to be ready to start work by May 2024
