    Our recently formed Delivery Directorate is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Senior Risk Manager. In this role, you will spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk management plan for Transport for West Midlands. Managing a team of 3 Risk Managers, you will provide strategic direction and support whilst integrating rigorous, strategic risk management practices for both transport delivery.

    Being the senior point of contact for the team, you will play an instrumental role in defining processes and controls tailored for use in multi-modal transport infrastructure programmes and projects across metro, rail and sustainable transport. You will champion the creation of a strengthened risk management team, ensuring transparency and enabling decision making at strategic levels.

    What you will be doing

    ·Define and establish best practice risk framework.

    ·Establish and maintain a risk management manual and processes.

    ·Oversee and understand quantitative and qualitative risk management practices.

    ·Monitor overall risk exposure and assess against strategic objectives.

    ·Contribute to continuous improvement and maturation of risk management across the Portfolio.

    ·Support the completion of delivery programmes and projects for major infrastructure Transport.

    ·Maintain risk management systems.

    About you

    ·Experience leading and managing risk up to strategic level.

    ·Demonstrative experience creating risk management manuals and associated processes and systems.

    ·Experience implementing qualitative and quantitative risk assurance practices to programmes and projects.

    ·Facilitation of risk workshops and production of risk reporting up to strategic level.

    ·Line management experience

    ·Experience commissioning risk assurance and managing risk specialists in project and programmes.

    ·Knowledge of risk assurance processes (QCRA, QSRA in particular)

    ·Ability to influence and manage decision-making on risk up to strategic level.

    ·Ability to create accurate forecasting and actionable mitigation strategies for risk.

    ·Good collaboration and mentoring skills

    ·Ability to work well under pressure.
