    Job Description

    A Senior Director, Business Relationship Management (BRM) - Corporates' main focus is to win new business in the UK, Ireland and The Netherlands by marketing to prospective customers (Corporate issuers) in this region. The role will also entail interaction with bankers, as well as supporting and leading one or more business initiatives in the EMEA region. London.

    The role is situated within our client's Business Relationship Management ("BRM") group in London, which leads business development and marketing efforts for our client.

    This Senior Director position sits within the EMEA Corporates Team. The London team has a primary focus on business in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands.

    The Role:

  • This is predominantly a business development role
  • The main focus is to win new business in the UK, Ireland and The Netherlands by marketing to prospective customers (Corporate issuers) in this region. The role will also entail interaction with bankers, as well as supporting and leading one or more business initiatives in the EMEA region
  • An important aspect of the role will be to continue to raise the profile of the our client brand through consistent marketing to Corporate issuers.
  • There will be an element of relationship management to this role, with the successful candidate expected to manage a small portfolio of existing issuer relationships.
  • Below is a list of some of the main deliverables expected of the successful candidate:
  • Origination of new business - they will be expected to contribute to the London and broader EMEA team's targets - principally by seeking new opportunities and business acquisition
  • The role will require a strategic approach: the candidate will need to understand and capitalise on Our client's positioning in the Corporates market, and be able to identify and then prioritise new targets in order to maximise the opportunities
  • The successful candidate will be expected to develop a good understanding of the credit rating landscape and be able to formulate arguments around the benefits of our client
  • They may manage a small portfolio of both priority and non-priority UK/Ire/NL-based corporate issuer relationships
  • Working with the Marketing Research Associates on the production of marketing pitchbooks plus other materials required for engagement with target issuers
  • Assisting with webinars and marketing campaigns in the region
  • Be involved in contract negotiation and other duties / administration with external counterparties including preparing Engagement Letters, Confidentiality Agreements and Hold Harmless Letters as required for rating mandates
  • Bringing creative ideas to help develop new marketing angles
  • Engage with: BRM colleagues, the Investor Development Teams, and Analytical colleagues on prospects and any existing issuer relationships as required
  • Management and execution of a small number of special projects including but not limited to new product development, competitor analysis and marketing initiatives, as well as supporting their line manager on bespoke tactical and strategic projects.   • The role involves occasional travel around the UK (and potentially Ireland and The Netherlands). The Successful Applicant

    A successful Senior Director, Business Relationship Management (BRM) - Corporates should have:

  • A strong background in banking and financial services.
  • Proven experience in client relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent English language skills (essential)
  • Strong marketing and negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate confidently with senior members of Corporate Treasury teams (including Treasurers and CFOs)
  • Demonstrable capability of originating new business and closing deals
  • Ability and confidence to develop strong business relationships
  • Strong command of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • The candidate must be able to work independently within a strategic framework whilst maintaining high working standards and showing excellent attention to detail
  • Team oriented, with ability to effectively build relationships both externally and internally.

    What Would Make You Stand Out:
  • An understanding of corporate credit analysis
  • It would be advantageous in this role to have a number of already established corporate Treasurer / CFO relationships
  • Familiarity with relevant capital markets data tools including, but not limited to, Bloomberg, Dealogic and FactSet
  • University degree, preferably in a business-related discipline. Other professional or business qualification (e.g. MBA, Master's Degree)
  • A strong understanding of the business services industry.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with internal teams.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to keep up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities.
