Payroll Manager vacancy, based just outside Colchester - £50,000 per annum with 25 days annual leave + Bank holidays


You will be supported within a busy payroll environment to cover for the head of department in their absence and ensure that the multiple payrolls are processed to deadline and with accuracy.


Duties include:
Coordination and management of entire payroll function

  • Manage and supervise direct reports within the Payroll Team
  • Assist with administering payrolls
  • Checking and auditing of all payrolls


  • Reporting

  • Supporting Internal reporting requirements eg. Processing payroll journals, reconciling control accounts
  • Projects as required ie. Continual improvement and standardisation of payroll operations and systems
  • Overall responsibility for processing and entering of all information for starters, leavers and charge of hours/pay rates, with strong knowledge of statutory processing
  • Processing pay through BACs pay system
  • Processing P45's, P46's and any other PAYE and NI information and forms (P11d's etc)
  • Maintaining deadlines
  • Complete year end procedures
  • Process and reconcile Auto Enrolment
You will need to have a comprehensive and working knowledge of payroll processes and procedures. Team leadership ability, legislative compliance, knowledge of pensions and auto enrolment procedures.
