Associate Financial Planner - Portsmouth (Hybrid working)

The purpose of the role is to provide a high calibre, long term tax and financial planning services to clients of Attivo.

Building strong client relationships and ensuring clients' needs are satisfied compliantly and efficiently and to maximise new business opportunities and retain the group's growing client base.


We provide our advice and service through Attivo Financial Planning, one of the very few Independent, Chartered, Occupational Pension Specialist, financial planning firms in the UK.

We aim to deliver the most professional, technically competent, independent advice and service to our clients.

We want to be seen as a leader in the financial planning sector, to help change the standing of financial planning to be recognised as a genuine profession and to ensure we, and the profession, contribute positively to society and the economy.


Main responsibilities

  • Provide financial advice and make recommendations to help clients achieve their financial planning objectives
  • Ensure the compliance procedure is adhered to at all times to protect and safeguard the company by meeting the regulatory aspects of the role
  • Develop product, technical and regulatory knowledge to keep up to date with latest financial regulations
  • As the first point of contact for many clients, understand their circumstances and requirements, and articulate how we can help satisfy their oftencomplex needs with appropriate advice or services
  • Qualify and monitor new business opportunities to generate new private and corporate clients for the Group, using existing relationships and connections
  • Carry out fact finding and risk assessments in order to deliver advice
  • Update and maintain client records in our back office and provider systems

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning is essential for the role
  • Working towards Advanced Diploma
  • At least 2 years' experience of working as a Trainee Financial Planner
  • A proven track record providing high levels of service
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent report writing and written/verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational, time management skills and effective caseload management
  • Experience of working with high net worth clients would be beneficial
  • Pension transfer qualification such as AF7 would be an advantage

Salary and benefits
£45,000 to £60,000 depending on qualifications.
