The Isle of Wight CAMHS team is looking for a Community Team Lead.

This person would be part of the CAMHS multi-disciplinary leadership team and at times deputies for the CAMHS Team Leader.

They would be responsible for the line management of the community team and the operational delivery of the CAMHS community pathway whilst working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist support and intervention to children, young people and their families within a range of settings including; home, the children's ward, the Acute Adult Ward, Tier 4 mainland placements and other community settings to support recovery and deliver interventions in the least restrictive environment.


They will be passionate about ensuring the child's voice is central to the work they do and work in partnership with families and other agencies to achieve the outcomes desired by the child or young person.


This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic clinician, with experience of working in children's services, to join our CAMHS team on the Isle of Wight.

The IOW NHS Trust community CAMHS team is CQC rated Good, the team is a multidisciplinary team of 40 staff who provide services to children and young people on the Island that are experiencing emotional health and wellbeing difficulties.


We are looking for an experienced clinician in children's services to take up the role in community team to ensure the service continues to deliver good quality, compassionate care.


To lead in the development and delivery of an effective CAMHs community treatment pathway, for young people and their families on the Island.

To provide high quality care and treatment in conjunction with other professionals and work in partnership with other agencies to provide seamless, flexible services which meet children and young peoples and carer needs to achieve the desired outcomes


To deputise for team lead when required and provide clinical, management and caseload supervision to clinicians as required within the CAMHS service.

Job Statement


The post holder will provide professional expertise in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care and have a good knowledge of the psychological, physical and social consequences that affect young people.

They will be required to provide a range of interventions, including consultations, mental state assessments, risk assessments, family liaison.


The post holder will provide clinical leadership within the CAMHs Community Pathway Team, providing line management where required and supervision to the other professionals in CAMHs and ensure appropriate clinical supervision is in place for the team and external agencies, to promote positive risk taking within the community setting and acute setting, ensuring children and young people receive high quality individualised care and are treated in the most appropriate setting to achieve the best outcomes for children, young people and their families.


The post holder will take a lead role in the development and delivery of the service, ensuring the service complies both with local and national best practice and guidelines, including but not limited to NICE and delivering and reporting against national waiting time targets.


The post holder will ensure the service has effective relationships with both internal and external services to ensure a seamless provision for children and young people.

They will attend multi agency meetings representing the service at these meetings both on the island, regionally and nationally to support service delivery and development.
