Electrical Engineer
Salary - £41,900 Per Annum
Location - Spalding
Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm
gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to work at their facility based near Spalding
Performance Objectives
- Your primary accountability is to provide safe and highly reliable equipment to manufacturing colleagues, achieved through a healthy balance of handson maintenance competence, equipment knowledge, analysis of equipment performance and strong communicationskill.
Specifically you will:
- Execute handson planned and unplanned maintenance activities to agreed standards, always ensuring safe working.
- Ensure assets are ready to produce products that are of an excellent quality, despatched on time in full to customers
- Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities that you undertake properly risk assessed
- Coach, train and give understanding to production colleagues to achieve continual improvements in equipment knowledge/performance
- Act with integrity always to build a culture of professional engineering and proactive equipmentfocussed continuous improvement
Person Specification
- Technical Hands-On Engineering Experience, preferably through recognised timeserved apprenticeship within food manufacturing
- Technical qualifications and competence in mechanical/electrical at a minimum NVQ Level
- BTEC Engineering certificate/equivalent qualification & satisfy competence checks
- Broad Knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical & PLC/Inverter Assets
- Skills and capability to logically diagnose and fault find on a variety of equipment/situations
- Strong experience in ensuring safe working and safe systems of work is utilised and followed
- Experience of risk assessing maintenance activity and controlling safe working practices
- Experience of working on high hazard equipment & competent in undertaking safe isolation
- Strong evidence of good interpersonal, communications and customer engagement skills
- Specific experience of clarifying priorities in a busy environment
- Proven ability to get the best from a diverse team through a calm and clear approach
- Ability to engage positively with production to ensure equipment release for maintenance
- Experience and knowledge of Lean and Asset Care Excellence techniques particularly Root Cause Analysis
