What will I be doing?
Our Education Leadership Team was formed in January this year. We are a school facing team that provides support advice and challenge to our Local Authority maintained schools.

We're working to improve the lives of children in Somerset - and you'll be a key part of that.

Your day-to-day work will involve:

Specialising in Academy Conversions on behalf of the Local Authority.
Working as part of a high performing team to set standards for the county that drive up performance, through supporting Local Authority maintained schools to join multiacademy trusts.
The operational delivery and management of the academisation projects, coordinating the activities as required. Escalating risks as appropriate
Developing and maintaining project documentation, including the Project Plan & Lessons Learnt.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be.

But it will really help if you:

Have specialist knowledge and skills relating to Academy Conversions.
Have worked with schools or settings to negotiate complex relationships, especially in times of heightened political sensitivity.
Are experienced in managing projects and programmes.
Have experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and/or working collaboratively with specialists from different fields.
Working to tight deadlines and the ability to prioritise
Excellent communication skills at all levels throughout the organisations and external partners/organisations
Can think creatively and problem solve.
GCSE in Maths and English at a minimum of grade C/4 or above and/or a relevant Business/Project/Leadership qualification at level 3 or above.

Anything else I should know?
The salary for the role is Grade 11, ranging from £28,371 to £32,020 per annum

The post is being advertised as a secondment/fixed term contract until March 2024 initially. Subject to funding, there is the possibility that this may be extended.
