This is a unique opportunity to work in a team with a specific role to support pupils and their families to overcome disadvantage and to maximise opportunities for young people.

This will involve supporting a specific group of pupils to help raise their attainment and increase their opportunities for personal achievement. You will work to maximise wellbeing by supporting teaching and learning, working with families and one to one counselling.

The hours (36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year) will be based around the school day, week and term time, with some flexibility to include 1 or 2 days in the holidays as required in lieu of a term time date by arrangement.

This post is funded by Scottish Government Pupil Equity Funding (PEF). It is based within the Pupil Support Team (Pastoral and Support for Learning) working with pupils and their families.

Lockerbie Academy: Lockerbie Academy is proud to serve the community. Our school motto means Always Prepared . It is our aim to ensure that whatever future ambition our pupils have, they will be ready for that future by the time they leave us. We are fortunate to have a brand new building providing some of the best facilities in the region. As a school we aim to treat every pupil as an individual and to deliver the highest standards of education to enable them to fulfil their potential in a positive learning environment.

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
