Description
To work in accordance with Departmental Policy, Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems to compliance by other staff to ensure compliance to the ISO 13485 quality standards.
To assist with the development, implementation and regular review of Departmental Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with Quality Management Systems and ensure staff compliance with them.
To supervise, organise and allocate work and provide training for less experienced/qualified staff in both areas - surgical instruments and flexible endoscope decontamination.
Contribute to the monitoring and recording of sickness and absence details in accordance with Trust policy, thus ensuring continuity of service and that persistent sickness problems are addressed appropriately and in the interests of individual staff members.
This will involve back to work sickness interviews, sickness absence meetings with staff and their representatives and allocation of targets as appropriate.
Evaluating each member of staff's performance by undertaking regular appraisal of staff in accordance with the Trust's Appraisal framework and guidance, including identification of training needs.
To lead a production team in the Decontamination Service department to ensure meeting customer's demand by provision of high quality, specialised decontamination of medical devices contributing to the clinical care of the patient.
To assist in monitoring the accuracy and quality of the departments production, using appropriate internal and external quality assurance and to carry out corrective actions to inform senior staff as appropriate.
Evaluating each member of staff's performance by undertaking regular appraisal of staff in accordance with the Trust's Appraisal framework and guidance, including identification of training needs.
To contribute to the maintenance and promotion of health, safety and security within the department, thus ensuring a safe working environment and a healthy and well-motivated workforce.
The role involves exposure to blood and body fluids.
Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital.
CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough's only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home birthing team.
Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery.
