Job Summary:


We have a new and exciting opportunity to appoint a trained Ear Microsuction Practioner to join our dynamic and friendly PCN team.

The post-holder will have the opportunity to work in a fully equipped clinic based in one of our PCN practices.

You will be supported in your role through the clinical leads across the service you are working in as well as an experienced and friendly management and administration team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assess PCN Patients who have been referred into the service and carry out ear microsuctioning if appropriate.
  • Discharge the patient with PCN contact details if they have any problems and require a followup and an invitation to give feedback. All information will be documented directly in patients notes.
  • In the event that microsuction could not be carried out and condition requires escalation and hospital intervention GP surgery will be informed via the practice notes.
  • EMIS templates will be used to complete consultations
  • Print off Clinic appointments for the day and give to reception team.

  • Foster and maintain strong links with all services across the PCN and neighbouring networks.
  • Explores the potential for collaborative working and takes opportunities to initiate and sustain such relationships.
  • Demonstrates use of appropriate communication to gain the cooperation of relevant stakeholders (including patients, senior and peer colleagues, and other professionals, other NHS/private organisations e.g. CCGs).
  • Can recognise personal limitations and refer to more appropriate colleague(s) when necessary.
  • Liaises with other stakeholders as needed for the collective benefit of patients.

Person Specification:


Essential Criteria:


  • Experience in Micro Suction
  • Eligible to work in UK
  • Able to carry out duties with or without premises adaptation
  • Able to follow legal, ethical, professional, and organisational policies/procedure and codes of conduct
  • Recognises priorities when problemsolving and identifies deviations from normal pattern and can refer to seniors when needed
  • Healthcare Qualification and registration to relevant body [e.g. GP, Nurse, Audiologist]
  • Qualification in Microsuction
  • Experience of working within the NHS, with general public & team working
  • Experience working within primary care
  • Certificates for Practice Nurse Training and cervical Smears Training with relevant registration numbers.
