    Microsoft Workplace lead

    Hybrid role (Bedfordshire/UK travel/remote)

    Our client is a disrupter in the UK energy sector seeking an accomplished Microsoft Technical Consultant to play a key role in ensuring the company innovates with technology and data solutions to drive their business outcomes.

    Using expertise in Technology and advanced communication skills, this role will manage 3rd party relationships, lead teams, and engage proactively with key stakeholders across the business.

    Essential skills & Responsibilities

    Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

    Design, implement, and manage cloud network architecture to ensure high availability, reliability, and security, implementing cost management strategies to control expenditure.

    Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and Viva. Ensure data security and compliance within the Microsoft 365 environment.

    Managing Third Party SaaS Tools and providers: Evaluate, implement, and manage third-party SaaS tools to enhance productivity and efficiency. Monitor the performance and cost-effectiveness of these tools.

    Endpoint Lifecycle Management: Supervise the full lifecycle of desktop, from provisioning to retirement. Implement and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions for company and BYOD devices, integrating security tools to ensure data protection.

    Review Vulnerability and Penetration Test Results: Analyse vulnerability and penetration test results to identify potential security weaknesses, in either cloud infrastructure, applications or 3rd party SaaS. Provide expert advice and prepare remediation actions to address identified issues, utilizing security tooling for threat mitigation.

    Procurement of Hardware, Software and Services: Coordinate the procurement of IT hardware, software licenses, and services.

    Staff and Contractor Onboarding/Offboarding: Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes for staff and contractors, ensuring the provisioning and de-provisioning of accounts, access permissions, and assets. Collaborate with ops and back office to streamline the onboarding and offboarding workflows.

    Security and Compliance: Evaluate, implement, and manage security tooling and services. Collaborate with the compliance team to maintain and audit IT security policies and procedures. Utilise security tooling to monitor and enforce compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including GDPR, ISO27001, SEC, REC and other industry-specific requirements.

    Experience and Qualifications

    Prior experience in the Energy industry would be desirable.

    Understanding of energy industry systems and data-flows.

    Proven experience in Cloud infrastructure management, cost control, cloud networking, security tooling, IDM, and staff/contractor onboarding/offboarding.

    Basic knowledge of scripting languages i.e. Powershell, bash, SQL.

    Comfortable with data analysis and visualisation.

    Microsoft 365 suite experience i.e. SharePoint, Teams, Onedrive and administration centres.

    Proficiency in Vulnerability Management and remediation.
