    Bid Writer Bathgate - £35-45k

    Overview of role:

    We have an exciting opportunity to join our bid team. Working on every element of the bid process, we require someone with the ability to produce and compile bespoke high-quality PQQ and tender submissions that meet customers needs and aspirations. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong creative writing and verbal presentation skills. They should be able to produce submissions that sell the business, especially to social housing, local authority and commercial clients. Key to their capability will be the ability to develop benefits-based proposals that articulate true customer value. Knowledge of the energy or construction sectors would be advantageous, but not essential. Ideally candidates should have bid writing experience, however, if you have the proven ability to write clearly and concisely and are keen to learn about the technologies we install, we will consider your application.

    • Key Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate and liaise with, internal business development managers and operational teams to develop and write bespoke, high quality PQQ and ITT submissions which demonstrate a clear understanding of client questions
    • Write clear, focused and logical negotiated proposal material (and any other business development documentation) maintaining consistency of style, brand and tone
    • Translate technical information into a written proposal that is clear and can be understood by both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Clearly communicate key benefits through the development of compelling proposals and presentations
    • Produce case studies and gather additional evidence that supports submissions
    • Robustly review responses against the scoring matrix and criteria provided
    • Maintain the bid pipeline and reporting process in conjunction with bid team colleagues
    • Support the business development team in the preparation of marketing literature and negotiated proposal submissions
    • Promote a drive for customer excellence across the virtual team and embed same into all stages of bid process
    • Ad hoc duties as required

    Qualifications

    • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

    • Construction and/or bid background desirable
    • APMP member desirable

    Skills, Knowledge, Experience.

    Demonstrable, strong creative writing skills

    Working knowledge of electronic tender platforms

    Excellent computer skills with advanced MS Word and a strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator

    Good organisational and time-management skills

    Good business acumen

    Thorough understanding of the bid process

    Experience of proposals, bids and tender writing within a fast-paced office environment

    Desktop publishing skills

    Knowledge of the energy/environmental and/or construction sectors
