    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our paediatric dietetic team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic registered dietitian with excellent communication and team working skills. You will join our small, but friendly team.

    Support, training and development opportunities will be provided. There will be opportunities to gain experience in specialist areas of paediatrics such as Cystic Fibrosis, Gastroenterology, Food allergy and Oncology.

    You will be based at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital, joining a friendly and supportive are excellent working relationships with the supportive paediatric consultants; the dietitian is very much an integral part of the paediatric MDT.

    Main duties of the job

    To provide a specialist clinical dietetic service to a caseload of paediatric patients to the ward and in outpatient clinics at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • HCPC Registration
  • Degree in Dietetics

    • Desirable

  • Post registration paediatric training/ paediatric modules
  • Member of the BDA

    • Experience

    Essential

  • Examples of experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Evidence of experience working in both the inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Supervision of junior staff and/or students

    • Desirable

  • Experience of managing paediatric patients
  • Evidence of experience of dietetic in inpatient work within the NHS

    • Knowledge

    Essential

  • Evidence of general dietetics knowledge
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex medical and nutritional information
  • Evidence of effective working within an MDT

    • Desirable

  • Knowledge of dietetic management of paediatrics in Cystic Fibrosis, Gastroenterology, Food allergy and/or oncology.
