    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager in the Leeds Place of the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB).

    This is a new role which encompasses the project management of corporate projects, to defined and agreed methods, alongside managing a dynamic business administration team and being responsible for adapting and developing the physical and virtual infrastructure in which our teams work.

    The role is exciting and varied and will appeal to those who enjoy supporting and leading teams as well as working as part of dynamic matrix teams.

    The successful candidate will be exceptionally organised, have experience of providing project management expertise to complex change programmes and be comfortable working as part of a matrix team where the ability to negotiate and influence is key.

    Line management experience is essential.

    Whilst this is advertised as a permanent role, secondments will be considered from other NHS organisations.

    Main duties of the job

    The postholder will provide undertake defined areas of administration and project management support and improvement activities, as part of a matrix team. They will lead on the management of corporate projects, using agreed and defined processes and methods.

    They will be responsible for a safe and effective working environment, ensuring that the physical and virtual infrastructure in which our teams operate is fit for purpose and constantly adapting to the changing needs of our business units and matrix teams.

    The postholder will lead and direct the work of the business administration team and be responsible for ensuring Directors and Business Unit leads have access to agile, effective and responsive administrative support to enable them to effectively and efficiently lead directorates, matrix teams and business units.

  • Skilled in a breadth of project management tools and techniques relating to project specification, planning, dependency mapping, risk management, stakeholder management, highlight and exception report
  • Skilled in delivering measurable improvement within projects.
  • Skilled in relationship management across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capable of acting as a role model and supporting the team to deliver the vision of the business unit.
  • Ability to produce timely function specific reports, analysis, presentations and papers.
  • Ability to think analytically and interpret data.
  • Ability to provide, receive, convey and present information in a clear way.
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Experience of leading a team
  • Experience of delivering complex projects involving multiple partners spanning different sectors.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of Population Health Management, Improving Population Outcomes and Value-based Healthcare.
  • Knowledge of improvement methodologies.
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting.
  • Experience of delivering change by working within matrix teams.
  • Experience of effective relationship management.
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
  • Further knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to masters level equivalent.
  • Recognised qualification in Programme and/or Project Management and improvement methodology or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
