    JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Operative (Quality)

    LOCATION: Telford – Hortonwood

    HOURS: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am. 5 days a week rotating shifts

    Job Purpose:

    The Manufacturing Operative will be responsible for the quality inspection and packing specification of the laminated (foiled) product as assigned to them by the Shift Co-ordinator.

    Key Accountabilities:

  • Carry our relevant quality checks / inspections on assigned products as required by the product quality plan.
  • Segregate all non-conforming products from good production.
  • Communicate information via the relevant communication channels.
  • Record all required information for checking / inspection operations as per company works instructions / procedures.
  • Alert relevant people to process and product concerns.
  • Agree and complete training and development requirements as determined by the Shift Co-ordinator and the training plan.
  • Safeguard property issued by the company.
  • Carry out continual visual quality inspections as determined by the product quality plan and procedure.
  • Perform specific quality Checks / Tests as determined by the product quality plan.
  • Pack laminated (foiled) products in accordance with the packing specification, as stated on the production schedule.
  • Ensure workplace is clean and tidy – all housekeeping procedures followed associated with tasks.
  • Transfer the knowledge and skills among the team (others).
  • Undertake reasonable duties as and when required.
  • Adherence to all organisational policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.
  • Work positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity.
  • Represent the organisation in a positive way as to avoid the damage of corporate image or bringing the company into disrepute.

  • Key Experiences and Skills Required:

  • Basic level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Ability to use a PC to an operational level.
  • Good communication skills.

  • Desirables Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience of working within an inspection role
  • Performance Measures

  • Attendance.
  • Competence audits.
  • Development of skills and competence in line with the training plan.
