    About the role


    Our Kerry Runcorn site is in Cheshire, at the site we manufacture flavours and emulsions for beverages.

    We have a fantastic opportunity for a student studying food science, nutrition, or chemistry to join the team as part of our intern program.

    As an intern in this team, you will analyse the functionality and performance of the different flavour systems in the perspective of sugar and/or alcohol reduction. This will be achieved in specific beverage matrix and evaluated in collaboration with the RD&A team, sales team, and the Business Development lead.

    Key responsibilities

    • Literature and comparative searches as required for project activation.
    • Experimental Design and action laboratory projects using flavour and compound.
    • Work in the lab on different trials and organize tasting sessions.
    • Coordinate the follow up of finished products: organoleptic evaluation, physio-chemical analysis, shelf-life stabilities.
    • Report trial results and full accounting.
    • Work on customer opportunities as required and ensure the effective functioning of the laboratory, and the compliance with food hygiene rules.

    Qualifications and skills


    We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and determined student studying Food Science, Nutrition or Chemistry and on course for a 2:1 classification. You will need to be able to work well in a team as well as individually, have good organisational, time management and communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft office applications.
