    Transport and Logistics Analyst: Hybrid

    Motive Group is hiring a Transport and Logistics Analyst for a major timber and builders merchant business.

    You will play a crucial role in optimising the transportation operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service across 300 branches.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Data Analysis: Analyse transportation data including shipment volumes, routes, costs, and performance metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
    • Forecasting and Planning: Develop transportation forecasts based on historical data and market trends to anticipate demand and optimise resource allocation.
    • Route Optimization: Utilise advanced routing software and analytical techniques to optimise delivery routes, minimise mileage, and improve delivery times while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
    • Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations, such as on-time delivery, vehicle utilisation, and fuel efficiency, and develop strategies to improve performance.
    • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and cost optimization within the transportation network, including carrier negotiations and mode selection.
    • Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements in transportation operations, streamlining workflows and enhancing overall efficiency.
    • Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated on transportation regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and standards.
    • Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations summarising transportation performance, trends, and recommendations for management review and decision-making.

    Requirements:

    • Strong experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics.
    • Proven experience 4 years+ in transportation analysis or logistics operations, preferably in the timber or building materials industry.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, with advanced skills in Excel and data visualisation tools.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey analysis results and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis and reporting.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements is preferred.
