- Manages a team of individual contributors who participate in the day-to-day automation of the end-to-end process from application build to application deployment, including aspects of the continuous integration and continuous delivery process.
- Participates on project teams between operations and software engineering, providing in-depth knowledge and direction on the rapid build, deployment, and operation of various systems & infrastructure components.
- Adapts project plans and priorities to address resource challenges.
- Guides the installation, creation, and enhancement of automation tools and workflow capabilities that support the coding lifecycle.
- Partners with agile software engineering team leaders to prioritize incremental product deployments and the handling of deployments to the test and production environments.
- 6+ years experience working in a DevOps role
- Team management experience
- Understanding of hosting production environments on AWS
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices and methods
- Working knowledge of SDLC principles and methodologies
- Previous Software Engineer &/or IT Operations role's with significant scripting/coding experience
- Advanced knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery build pipelines
- Experience working with microservices, containerisation (docker) and infrastructure as code
- A passion for automating manual processes

About the role
Leading the DevOps team with responsibility for supporting existing DevOps tools in addition to designing & building new capabilities. This role will primarily be supporting the SS&C managed services platform which hosts in-house developed software applications for our customers on AWS.
