Job Overview


The Project designer is responsible for defining the needs of each project, generating and developing the design from concept to completion.

The role requires a high level of practical and efficient design to maximise the return on investment for each property whilst managing multiple projects which range from:
small to large, and from basic to complex.

The Project designer is a key contributor to enabling FI Real Estate to:1) Delighting clients by ensuring perfect design & first time, snag-free delivery;
2) Ensuring a happy team by providing strong and timely communication and solving problems in partnership with the rest of the team; and,

3) Meeting our financial objectives by having an intimate understanding of what drives cost on a project and ensuring visions and ambitions are captured and mutually agreed upon.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop block plans, adjacency diagrams, space planning, and detailed designs based on design brief
  • Liaise with subcontractors throughout the design and construction process
  • Survey building interiors
  • Obtain project information: fabrics; furniture; and architectural elements
  • Prepare plans and specifications and assist in generating bid packages
  • Prepare construction documentation with interior architectural detail
  • Manage rigorous drawing
  • Liaise with subcontractors and consultants (FI Real Estate and the individual project teams)
  • Attend site meetings as and when required
  • Promote use of technologies to capture efficiencies and advancements
  • Supervise Visualizers and external resource if used, as well as support other team members
  • Snagging and producing O&M material.
  • Technical drawing section, plan, elevation
  • Interpret programme requirements, develop block plans, adjacency diagrams, space planning and detailed design
  • Organizational skills in prioritising, planning and meeting deadlines
  • Sophisticated communicative and effective expressive skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexible and adaptive to cope with fast track projects and changing team requirements
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Adaptability

Experience

  • Min 5 yrs Design & Build / Architectural background

  • Revit, Autocad, Sketchup
