    Contract: Permanent, Full time although 0.8 will also be considered for the right candidate.

    Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR 2b + Outer London

    We are looking to appoint a high-calibre leader for our outstandingMFL department.

    As a dynamic Head of MFL, you will enthuse students through the provision of high-quality teaching and learning, encouraging all students to develop their potential to the full.The successful candidate will be a leader who is passionate about all aspects of MFL with a drive to make a difference and maintain our high standards in the department.

    The ideal candidate will:


    • Be an outstanding practitioner and be on the way to becoming an inspirational leader;


    • Have a proven track record of success in raising student attainment;


    • Have the ability to develop a love of MFL in order to maintain high standards;


    • Be a committed team-player, ideally with experience of having led and managed successful teams;


    • Fully understand the MFL curriculum and have the vision required to raise standards further.

    Students at St Andrew appreciate being taught well and enjoy their learning.They expect high standards and enjoy being challenged and stretched in the classroom.Around half of the students at KS4 opt for a Modern Language GCSE, typically with two sets taking French and one set taking modern Greek. French is also offered in the Sixth Form to A level.

    Currently the primary modern foreign language taught at St Andrew the Apostle School from Year 7 is French; however, the school is interested to hear from potential applicants who can lead and develop the offer ofSpanishat our school, particularly if they are also able to teach French up to KS4.

    You will inherit a fantastic team of modern linguists, who, as a group, have the teaching skills needed to drive this department to even greater success.
