    Description
    Job Summary
    • Trust trained senior non-medical clinicians as Multi-Professional ACs to take on RC responsibilities.
    • Nurse Consultant Liz Moakes due to qualify as AC in 2025 for Moorland View.
    • Additional PA for MPAC supervision during training.
    • Junior doctor complement includes core trainee and foundation year two doctor.
    • Senior workforce review in progress with RCs on each inpatient ward.
    • New Chief Medical Officer dedicated to staff well-being and patient care.
    • Opportunities for additional PAs and remote working.
    Main Duties of the Job
    • Inpatient consultant needed for Moorland View, a 16-bed acute ward in Barnstaple, North Devon.
    • MDT includes psychology, occupational therapy, and pharmacist input.
    • Strong links with CMHTs, liaison psychiatry, Home Treatment Teams, and AMPHs.
    • Other co-located wards with substantive consultants on-site.
    • Post includes dedicated office and secretarial support.

    Experience
    • Essential
      • Experience in multidisciplinary team working.
      • Wide clinical experience in adult and older adult psychiatry.
      • Understanding of audit and clinical governance principles.
    • Desirable

      • Experience in inpatient psychiatry.

      • Strong communication skills.

    Qualifications
    • Essential
      • MBBS (or equivalent).
      • GMC registration with a license to practice.
      • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
      • Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
      • Approved Clinician status.
    • Desirable
      • CCT in adult psychiatry.
      • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
      • Training in educational supervision and appraisal.

    • Essential
      • Teaching experience with undergraduates and postgraduates.
      • Supporting professional development.
    • Desirable
      • Additional teaching skills.
      • Experience as a lecturer or supervisor.
