  • Requirements

  • Technology related bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of Linux and/or Unix operating systems
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts
  • 5+ years' experience working in a mission-critical environment (Operations, Technical Support, NOC etc)
  • Experience executing tasks under change management procedures
  • Experience resolving auto-cut and manual alarms following runbooks

  • Shift Format:

    This role is not a Monday to Friday core hours role. This will involve working a shift rotation, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

    The role involves working 12 hour shifts, 4 days on, 4 days off. There are two rotating shifts – day and night.

    On-call or overtime is not generally expected in this role, but you may be required to have on-call or overtime duties occasionally, based on business needs.

    What you'll do

    Support OCI's sovereign realms. You'll be part of a dynamic team with a broad knowledge of how Oracle's cloud platform works. You'll partner with customer support, service owners, and engineering teams around the globe to ensure high-quality service for customers. Note - this role is not a Monday to Friday core hours role – it will involve working a shift rotation, including nights, weekends and public holidays. (See "Shift Format" section, later in this document).

  • Act as an internal point of contact for one or more sovereign cloud realm(s)
  • Operate and perform maintenance for over 250 OCI services
  • Monitor auto-cut alerts and troubleshoot through the use of runbooks
  • Complete change requests to enable new functionality and maintain realm compliance
  • Ensure timely resolution of incidents, service requests, and change requests
  • Apply and improve incident and problem management processes to resolve major incidents
  • Suggest and document process improvements to drive business impact
  • Owns critical projects and/or owns improvements to team KPIs and SLOs
  • Drives down categorical sources of operational pain and improves the operational maturity bar across the director's organisation through tooling and practices
